When safeguarding adults agencies will often work in conjunction with one another. These agencies are:
-Medical professionals such as a GP, staff in hospitals, psychologists, pediatricians, speech and language therapists, podiatrists, occupational therapists and many more. if they spot any evidence of abuse they are obliged to record and report exactly what they have found/witnessed.
– Social services/Local authorities will use their safeguarding team to investigate the matter and asses risk.
-Police will also investigate matters along side social services and prosecute if necessary.
– the CQC (care quality commissioners) they often carry out inspections of care providers to ensure that all safeguarding policies are being followed.
-CRB checks are also a form of safeguarding, these are to insure people working with vulnerable people are not known for dangerous activity that could put people at risk of harm.
