The cop represents society’s point of view

The cop represents society’s point of view. Everyone that didn’t know Andy just knew that he was a gang member and he got killed. The cop sees Andy as a Royal and that is what Andy is labeled as in the story. It connects to the theme of the story because the cop shows that Andy wasn’t an individual but just another Royal. The protagonist is Andy because he has a turning point in the story. At first, he wanted to known as a Royal but while he was slowly dying he realized he wanted to be known as Andy. The antagonist was being known as Royal and not as an individual because while Andy was dying he realized that the only reason he got stabbed was because he was a Royal and after that he tried his hardest to change that. The minor characters in this story are Freddie, Angela, the drunk man, the old lady, the cop, and Laura.
